Ann Jaloba is the editor of The Hypnotherapy Journal and a practising hypnotherapist with clinics in Sheffield. She specialises in helping people overcome workplace stress and anxiety and find wellbeing at work. Ann has a long background in health journalism and she edited nursing journals for the Royal College of Nursing. She has also worked for charities developing online counselling and support services.
Ann is a qualified National Council for Hypnotherapy supervisor and is a founder member of Supervision Plus, a service for therapists which provides supervision and continuing professional development. She is the author of FirstDays: a guide to help new therapists grow in their first year of business.
Fiona Nicolson runs hypnotherapy clinics in Henley on Thames and Harley Street, London and has a particular interest in working with anxiety and trauma. As well as seeing private clients, Fiona works as a therapist for Anxiety UK, Anxiety UK is the largest organisation in the UK specialising in Anxiety Disorders.
Fiona also runs clinics for Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Apprentice Programme, working with the apprentices to help them reach their full potential. Fiona is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the National Council for Hypnotherapy and writes for The Hypnotherapy Journal.

Marketing your new business
Nicola Griffiths and Deborah Pearce are hypnotherapists who can jointly boast over 50 years of marketing experience. As well as running hypnotherapy practices, they also head up Therapists Marketing Solutions (TMS) which offers marketing courses for hypnotherapy students and practitioners. When Nicola and Deborah realised that over 90% of therapists fail in their first year of practice, they set up TMS in order to help practitioners and students learn how to attract more clients.
Amongst other roles, Nicola Griffiths was Online Marketing Manager for a FTSE 250 company, in charge of their website and online marketing initiatives. She is qualified as a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist and is also Trustee for the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
Before qualifying in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, Deborah Pearce worked as a senior manager for major national charities, responsible for a range of functions including PR and Marketing.
An overview of pain
Clem Turner is an experienced clinical and cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist and is an accredited member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and a senior member of the General Hypnotherapy Register. Clem runs practices in Sutton in Ashfield as well as Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, specialising in Pain Management, Stress and Anxiety Management and also Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Clem is a certified provider of The Listening Programme (a programme to help children with learning difficulties) with Advanced Brain Technologies.
Together with his wife Margaret, who is also a qualified and practicing hypnotherapist, Clem runs a range of continuous professional development workshops which are recognised by the General Hypnotherapy Register and National Council for Hypnotherapy.
Cathy Simmons is the creator of The Simmons Method, a science-based approach to addiction. As well as working with individual clients at her London clinic, Cathy runs ‘Get Complete Confidence working with Smokers’ training in The Simmons Method for qualified hypnotherapists.
Cathy is a qualified hypnotherapy supervisor and was initially Director of Supervision and subsequently Director of Ethics for the National Council of Hypnotherapy. Cathy is also the specialist advisor on addiction for the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Since qualifying as a hypnotherapist and stress management coach, Debbie Waller has run a busy hypnotherapy and stress management practice in Yorkshire, UK. Although she sees people with other issues, she has a particular interest in working with stress and the related areas such as phobias, anxiety and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She works mostly with one to one clients but also regularly provides seminars and stress management training to local businesses and groups.
Debbie taught for a nationwide therapy training organisation for three years alongside her therapy practice before launching her own school, Yorkshire Hypnotherapy Training. She currently divides her time between working with clients, training therapists and running an online magazine for student and practicing hypnotherapists.
Weight loss and management
Steve Miller is the UK’s renowned weight loss coach, hypnotherapist and media personality. In 2010 Steve became the presenter of the hit TV show Fat Families on Sky Living, he is featured widely by the press and was recently branded the Simon Cowell of the Slimming World. In 2014 Steve was appointed celebrity Blogger to The Huffington Post and the weight loss expert for Hello Magazine online.
Steve is a published author and is director of the Hypnotherapy Business School which offers business and marketing education for hypnotherapists and is specialist advisor to the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
Dealing with phobias
Pat Duckworth is a Cognitive Hypnotherapist, award winning author and public speaker. Pat sees clients on a one-to-one basis at her therapy rooms in Harley Street, London, Cambridgeshire and Toronto. She has delivered training and workshops on a wide range of well-being subjects.
Pat has worked successfully with clients experiencing a diverse range of phobias from the more common spiders and dogs through to black barns.
